Friday 12th July Walk starting at Fleckney via Wistow approx 5.6miles

It was another sunny day and  thirteen of us gathered for a walk starting at Fleckney. We were going to use the car park at the Baptist Church but that was full so we ended up on the grass verge near the allotments.

Wide paths

To start it was very easy going with  nice wide paths but we knew from experience that this was not going to last. Soon we were down to single file - the odd style gets you into a proper walking frame of mind.

Single File
Easy going

Just the odd style.

Tractor tracks can be very helpful.

We saw a family of geese on the canal and a very nice canal boat came  into view.

Leaving the canal we headed towards Wistow Garden Centre passing by the ancient church and the part grown Wistow Maize Maze.

At the garden centre restaurant we took a well earned break.

Leaving Wistow we headed back to Fleckney.

The ground is starting to look parched

It was a really enjoyable day, good company. good weather and good cake!

Don't forget its an away day next Friday  9.00 am start
