Friday 5th July Fosse Meadows to Claybrooke Magna approx 5miles



Twelve walkers travelled by car the short distance from Cosby to Fosse Meadows car park all wearing suitable footwear and clothing FOR A SUMMER WALK. It doesn't happen very often so it needs to be shouted about; the temperature was in the twenties.

The clear blue sky brought out the knees and bare arms. Sun tan lotion was applied in strategic places, so off we set.

Yes, this weather is good for lots of things including accelerating weed growth including nettles. 
Farmers were making the most of it cutting and baling hay which makes it easy walking across the fields.


We turned the corner of the field heading towards Claybrooke Mill and found chest high weeds and nettles. It was suggested that we did a detour but time was pressing, we hadn't had a coffee stop or a piece of cake, so on we pressed.


Now look at that cake, the cold drinks, coffee and tea were excellent but the cake well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a great day walking in the area and the weather was great.
