8th July walking from Mowsley to Gumley app 5.5 miles there and back.

Welcome to Mowsley where they have celebrated the Foxes becoming champions of the Premier League with a blue plaque and Grandad Frankpa got a blue plaque because he is an expert at runny eggs amongst other things.

Look out for  the free range cats, whilst free range eggs are £1.50 per 1/2 dozen.

Seating is provided to survey the countryside.

The local taxi trotted past, then we got caught up in the
cycling club speeding past.

Even though we've had a few showers lately (!) the gardens continue to bring smiles to everyone's faces.

Fat balls are still attracting the starlings.  There is a lot of food available in the fields so feeders aren't used so much at the moment.

The views over Leicestershire on the walk are quite amazing.

Always a friendly face in the fields.

Walking into the village of Laughton.

Then straight back into the countryside.

The next part of the walk takes you through some fields that normally have cows grazing. Today they were a bit closer than normal and Dad was with them looking after the little ones.

Now you don't mess around with this guy so we were quite pleased to get to the pub for refreshments.

Unfortunately, one our walkers is in hospital at the moment.  Here we are wishing him a speedy recovery and looking forward to him joining us for a nice cuppa and that special piece of cake we know he can't resist.

After refreshments we set off back on our return journey, out of Gumley and back to Mowsley.

Great walk, weather was good, looking forward to next week.
