14th July 2017 walk from Fleckney via canal to Wistow back via fields. app 5 miles.

Parking up at Fleckney.

On our way

Turning left into a field of maize.

Crossing the bridge

Grey sky but still quite warm.

Down at the bottom of the field.

Checking out whose perch this is.

Next field of corn.

The bridge at the canal does not seem to have had many walkers using it recently.

Turning left at the canal and making our way towards Wistow.

Always a picturesque walk along the canal.

Joined by an iridescent dragon fly.

Back over the canal towards Wistow Church

Cows ahead.

Down at the bottom of the field a group of cows were blocking the way to the gate.

After all moving through the gate safely, we walked on to the cafe at Wistow.

Renowned for large pieces of cake.

And large cups of coffee.

Our adventurous trio popped out for a photo call.

Knives and forks supplied.

After tea, coffee etc we all set off on the way back.

Through more maize and corn fields; the farmer had cut a path through and this showed the lack of rainfall in recent weeks.

The last stile on the walk. A helping hand to make sure we all cross safely.

Down the back lane through Fleckney.

Ending up at our parking place.

The weather held up making the walk very enjoyable.
Looking forward to next week.
