12/8/2022 Walking in the shade of Burbage Woods. approx 4 miles.

We decided on an early start, 9.30am, to avoid the worst of the heat of the day.  It was already very hot with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees C.

Photo of Cosby brook. Bone dry, only the odd small puddle here and there.

Our walk has been chosen to give maximum shade - a walk around Burbage woods.

Arriving and parking in the shade.

Most of us opting for head gear with plenty of shade. Also a good smear of high factor sun tan lotion.

Plenty of opportunities for photos.

So on this walk we will be showing a good selection of trees.

Leaving the trees for a short distance. Crossing a scorched field across to another section of wood.

Our half way destination, Acorns Cafe in Burbage woods. It was well shaded so we enjoyed an extended break.

Off we go again and headed for the nearest trees.

Scorched field to shaded woods.

Feeling the heat.

Headed back to the car park.

A more comfortable shoe for the drive back to Cosby.
