Leaders were off on their holidays so we were asked to lead the group
This beautiful morning 14 of us set off for a 5 mile ish circular walk, after sharing 'Celebrations chocolates'. .
We started at Oakfield Park and walked from Hospital Lane to Mill Lane via the cemetery walk. Turned left and into the old village and into Northfield Park. Along Leicester Road, across the traffic lights, over the Grand Union Canal and turned right into Woodbank. We then followed Sonning Way part of the way before going across the fields parallel to the canal. Past the railway crossing and continued to the underpass which came out at Hampton Close.
Photo stop just coming out of the tunnel, as we forgot to take any.
Turned left and immediate right into Minster Drive before crossing the Little Glen Road, Another photo stop.
Across the road and to Glen Parva Manor where the landlord had reserved us a seating area, with high stools for some of us!
Another walker joined us for drinks and after a good chat and a rest we continued back over the Ford, more photos,
A stop to look at the Naked Barista café on the bridle path which we agreed was suitable for joining up with family or a friend but not a large group. We continued our walk back to our starting point.
Thank you to our leaders of the week, especially as it was your special day.
See you all next week.
P.S. some of our other walkers holidaying in Kent.
