13/12/24 Walk to the New Jenno's at Carlton Park, Narborough from Cosby - Mince pie week.

From Cosby we arrived at Narborough to sense that something exciting was about to happen.

Everything was at a standstill.

Lots of people on the bridge overlooking the station.

Sure enough, approaching us was a steam train in all it's glory - one of those Christmas specials for people lucky enough to get a ticket - what a treat!

It was the Sir Nigel Gresley - wow!

And then it was gone just as quickly.

On with the walk through jitties and places we'd not normally walk.

Very child friendly display.

Someone very creative lives here.

Newly opened Jenno's - until recently the canteen for Santander - very nice and spacious.  Think this may be a regular stopping off place in future

A welcome visitor from Scotland.

Our leaders for the day.

Time for the walk back.

A memorial stone - at one time this was the cricket ground for  Carlton Hayes hospital, now sadly gone.

Back in Cosby.  It just happens to be our annual mince pie week when we make, bake or buy some seasonal treats.

And there we have it - something for everyone.

Plenty for seconds (or thirds).

These are particularly good as you can see.

What a way to start our Christmas!
