21-02-2014 Walking from Burbage Visitor Centre to Elmsthorpe approx 4.5 miles.

It was a nice dry day so we all set off to the Burbage Common Visitor Centre for a walk to Elmsthorpe.

Fourteen walkers all chatting away, just catching a glimpse of the
11.15 am to Birmingham.

We had to stop a few times for traffic passing. We stopped again at a dead tree which has become a roost for a local buzzard.

As we got into Elmesthorpe we saw a few friendly goats - they seem to eat anything including fingers.

Then we found the pub, the Wentworth Arms, closed!!!!  On further examination we were too early - but it was only ten minutes to wait.

Willie and Sheila told us all where they had been during the week -apparently off doing some trucking. They do get around !!!

It was a good day for walking and we all enjoyed the chat -  looking forward to Loddington and Launde Abbey next week.

Just under 5 miles
