28.2.2014 Loddington to Launde Abbey approx 5.5mls

The weather was not kind on Friday morning which was probably the reason for the low turn out of nine walkers.

By the time we arrived at Loddington the rain had stopped, so we were keen to get going. The first part of the walk took us through Loddington towards the church. The church is situated outside the village in a field and you have to walk across a field in order to reach it.

Approaching the church we came across an avenue of snowdrops.

Willie and Sheila seemed to enjoy exploring the area.

After a good look around the church area and the snowdrops, we set off for Launde Abbey.

On the way several interesting features were noted, a partially submerged tree and a tea pot (without cups!).

Just waiting
As we approached Launde Abbey everybody was getting quite excited about lunch. Apparently, the homemade soup is delicious and the the scones are well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very comfortable

Good job I took my boots off

The soup and scones didn't disappoint - yummy!

After lunch we had a quick look around the grounds of the Abbey and then off on the road back to Loddington. There were a few dark clouds gathering so we didn't want to get caught in a downpour.
