Heavy rainfall over the Leicester area, not a very good forecast.
The walk we did plan was changed due to a farmer putting some very large bullocks in one of the fields (not very inviting).
We had to change the revised walk because of heavy rainfall throughout the night which would have meant mud here, there and everywhere.
So Plan C was selected because, although it was a bit wild and windy, the rain had stopped and though not as beautiful as last week's walk it did stretch our legs and got us out into the fresh air.
Starting from Cosby Village Hall car park we booted up and took the road out of the village towards Littlethorpe.
After reaching Littlethorpe we turned right towards Whetstone passing the old English Electric works on our way, much of which has been demolished. We spotted a Planning Notice saying that 98 homes were to be built on the site and thought that this would be much better than the derelict eyesore it had been for many years.
On reaching Whetstone village we turned right towards Cosby.
Back into Cosby we walked down to the millennium sign opposite the village hall and turned left towards the village centre passing the church on our way.
We crossed the brook to reach Granny Smith's tea rooms for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
The weather may have been damp and grey but it certainly didn't dampen our spirits.
It was soon time to wander home for lunch.
