We chose Burbage Woods because it was going to be sunny and hot later in the day.
After walking through the first wood, then into some fields we saw the the surrounding landscape was definitely short of rainfall with cracks in the earth and yellowing of grass paths.
Deciding to keep out of the sun we headed for the shade of the visitor centre and a cuppa.
Over the Leicester, Birmingham main railway line.
What a sign to come across on a day as hot as today. 30 degrees we believe.
A very shady seat appreciated by all.
All refreshed and ready to go.
Into the sun for ten minutes then back into the woods.
Under the railway line and a five minute walk to the next shaded area for walking.
Oh it is nice and cool in the wood.
Surprise, surprise its a birthday party. Cake and a sing song. We all love cake.
